Pokemon Switch.

Ever since game freak announced that a core Pokémon title was in the works for the Nintendo switch fans have been eagerly awaiting it’s reveal, this week the Pokémon company revealed a brand new Pokémon title for the Nintendo switch, however it wasn’t quite the Pokémon title fans have been open for.
Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee are, for want of a better metaphor, the love children of a traditional Pokémon titles and Pokémon GO but with most of of the rpg elements Pokémon fans are used to striped right back and replaced with motion controls & the capture mechanics found in the hugely popular mobile title.

It’s a reimagining of Pokemon Yellow made for the fans of Pokémon GO, and while many Pokémon enthusiasts won’t like that idea immediately, the game itself has a fantastic art style and graphics to boot, plus co-op multiplayer and a fun little pokeball peripheral which you can faint throw at your television screen to capture the in game critters.
All in all Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee might not be what the fans want but a proper Pokemon game is coming to the Switch next year and this might just tide us over until then.
Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will be available on the Switch from the 19th of November this year.

  1. Right now I am playing Pokemon Quest. Don’t like the sound of motion controls to be honest, but I’ll probably give the game a chance. Not having a traditional Pokemon title on the Switch is a missed opportunity, especially as the GO craze has died out.

    1. Haven’t played Pokemon GO but I might as I do like the look of Let’s Go. A traditional Pokemon game will come in time and hopefully the extra time working on it will see it turn out as something special.
