Sony have revealed plans to up the cost of online access with price hikes on all PSN subscriptions across Europe. A full list of the increases can be found below but most Playstation owners will end up paying £9.99/€9.99 more a year on the 12 month subscription.

Sony have claimed the price increase will be used to improve the PSN experience however the majority of the user base are finding such reasoning a little hard to believe given the fact the PSN service already makes an overall profit.

1 Month – £5.99/€6.99 to £6.99/€7.99.
3 Months – £14.99/€19.99 to £19.99/€24.99.
1 Year – £39.99/€49.99 to £49.99/€59.99.

  1. Companies are greedy. Rather than be content with profit they always want to post even bigger earnings every year. A price hike is hard to swallow when the “free” PSN games have been poor lately. It’s been ages since I bothered playing any of them. They are either titles I already own or stuff I have no interest in.

    1. With sales of the PS4 slowing & VR falling short altogether its no real surprise to see Sony upping PSN prices. Its a short term solution though as I can’t see gamers happy to pay much more.
