Super NES Classic Edition.

Following the runaway success & then, sudden demise of the NES Mini, many Nintendo fans were left asking, will we ever see a Super NES mini? Well the answer is a big, fat yes. The Super NES Classic Edition is coming to both North America and Europe this on September 29th.
Much like the NES Classic before it this SNES edition will come in the form of a tiny SNES console pre-loaded with 21 games, games can not be added or removed of course & accessories like the GameBoy player will not be compatible with the device however the micro console will come bundled with a pair of controllers.
Game-wise the 21 included are a fairly impressive bunch with classics like Super Mario Kart, A Link to the Past & Super Mario World all accounted for however the headline stealing title of the lot has to be Star Fox 2, the never before released sequel to Nintendo’s classic on-rails shooter.
A full list of the games can be found below & while some might be disappointed at the lack of Chrono Trigger or one of my all time favourites, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, for $79.99 it’s hard to complain too much.

  1. The lack of Chrono Trigger is deafening, and I’m with you – Zombie Ate My Neighbors is some of the best couch co-op ever designed. In the end, I agree – this list is an absolute dream come true. I feel like I can’t own FFVI in enough iterations, just to be sure I will always have a method to play it. I really hope availability is a little more reliable this go-around!

    1. Nintendo need to make as many of these as they can, I mean I know they are trying to keep production costs to a minimal these days while at the same time boosting demanded but the backlash for a repeat of the NES shortages is likely if sure happens again.

  2. Very impressive collection of games. Mega Man X and Kirby Superstar are titles I played a lot back in the 16 bit days. Amazing to see that Star Fox 2 is finally getting a release.
