SNK Playmore Going, Going, Gone.

No strangers to the twists and turns of the game’s industry, SNK Playmore have announced that they have been purchased, lock, stock and barrel by Leyou Millenium, a Chinese company who were happy to hand over $63.5 million for the privilege.
Commenting on the deal, a spokesman for Leyou Technology said the company now intended to follow the “Marvel formula,” in regards to their purchase with the likes of the Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters series branching out into anime, manga, TV and film.

  1. I can’t believe I’m saying that but I’m so afraid about that purchase and the future results that I would prefer Disney did !…

    1. I certainly don’t like this “Marvel formula” nonsense so many companies are spouting about these days, it clearly shows both a lack of originality and marketing strategy on their parts.

  2. Hopefully they still focus on making console stuff because shows/movies based off games don’t tend to be very good.

    1. From what I’ve read anime and manga seem to be the short term aim of Leyou Technology while film and TV are the ultimate goals. Gaming meanwhile falls somewhere in between.
