Bloodstained Ritual of the Knight.

In a move that’s surprised no one, former Castlevania director Koji Igarashi has revealed he is indeed at work on a spiritual successor to the much loved vampire slaying series and he’d like your help in getting it off the ground. Seeking initial funding of $500,000, plus stretch goals asking for well over a million, Bloodstained Ritual of the Knight promises to deliver the classic metroidvania style gameplay fans of the Castlevania series have come to expect, stunning, Unreal Engine 4 powered 2.5D visuals, the inclusion of David “Solid Snack” Hayter to the voice cast, local co-op and a physical release to top it all off.
That said it’s not all roses for Bloodstained as Mr. Igarashi himself has stated he’ll need 2 years to deliver on the promises listed above and even with that he’ll only do so on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as the Unreal Engine 4 isn’t supported on the Wii U, 3DS or Vita, (oh boo!) If a lack of Nintendo love hasn’t put you off, or you just want to keep up to date with Bloodstained Ritual of the Knight’s kickstarter campaign direct your browser to the game’s page here.

    1. Well apparently Koji had already raised half the money for the project before going to Kickstart so it clearly doesn’t need to be up there but then again it is free publicity.
