Nintendo have announced a swing in the company’s earnings, posting a profit for the first time in 4 years. The profit of ¥40 billion came in no small part down to the continual success of the 3DS which added another 8.73 million units to the 45 or so million handhelds already sold, and of course Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire which shifted some 9.94 million units combined.
Mario Kart 8 also lent a hand by shifting over 5 million copies while the Wii U itself managed to sell another 3 million more consoles worldwide, bringing the systems lifetime sales up to 9.54 million.
