Silent Hill Goes Silent.

MultNews3

With the Kojima/Konami saga now played out the inevitable fallout has begun with news that the latest in the Silent Hill series, the would be collaborative effort between Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima dubbed Silent Hills has been cancelled.
“Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.” Read a short statement from the publisher which went on to reveal that the Silent Hills’ demo, titled P.T., will also be remove from the PlayStation Store today.
Where the Silent Hill franchise goes from here really is now anyone’s guess however perhaps the bigger question is where are Konami as a company heading given that not only have they just cancelled one of their most anticipated titles in recent memory but they’ve done so in the same week they’ve delisted themselves, without reason, from the NYSE stock market. Worrying times for Konami indeed.

    1. Things do indeed look a little bleak for Konami, in fact I wouldn’t at this point be too surprised if in a few months time they announce their going mobile like so many other Japanese developers.

  1. That was such an awesome project….. Please, Konami… wake up ! You’re ruining your chances to survive ! I need my dose of Silent Hill ! I need my dose of Kojima !

    1. I think it would be a smart move on Kojima’s part (given that he is leaving) to partner up with Del Toro, away for Konami and start working on something like Silent Hills. They could even Kickstart it if they wanted,I’m sure they’d find plenty of backers.
