Club Nintendo Shuts Up Shop.

In an unexpected move Nintendo have revealed that Club Nintendo, a service which offered Nintendo customers a number of goodies’ for purchasing Nintendo related products is to be shutdown globally by September this year.
Full details on how and when Club Nintendo will close it’s doors in your region can be found below as there are differences, that said all regions are to be granted access to a new rewards program in the near future with both European and American Ninty fans offered the chance to get their hands on a free copy of Flipnote Studio 3D should they sign up to the new programme upon it’s launch.

America.
March 31st is last day to “sign up for a Club Nintendo membership, register products, complete surveys, register for a warranty extension, earn Coins, and qualify for Elite Status.
Last day to select a 2015 Elite Status gift (to be confirmed) is April 30th.
Last day to redeem Coins for rewards or downloadable games is June 30th.
Last day to redeem Club Nintendo download codes in the Nintendo eShop is July 31st.
All Club Nintendo members to receive a free download code for Flipnote Studio 3D (exclusive to Club Nintendo) in February 2015.

Europe.
Product registration cards no longer added to packaged software from April 1st.
Digital games bought on eShop no longer registered from April 20th.
Club Nintendo to end on September 30th. All features, including spending earned Stars on catalogue items, will cease.
Users who move to the new service (to be announced) during the launch period will receive Flipnote Studio 3D for free.
Current Club Nintendo members are advised to spend all their remaining Stars before September 30th. New items will continue to be added to the catalogue in the coming months.

Japan.
Product registration cards no longer added to packaged software from February 1st.
Club Nintendo points can be no longer registered from April 20th.
Club Nintendo to end on September 30th. All features, including spending earned points on catalogue items, will cease.
Current Club Nintendo members are advised to spend all their remaining points before September 30th. New items will continue to be added to the catalogue in the coming months.

    1. I’ve used Club Nintendo many times (mostly for Wii points) and can thus say from experience its an okay rewards scheme but nothing more then that. Hopefully whatever Nintendo replace it with is more tied into the eShop.
