DMC All Over Again.

With 2014 rapidly drawing to a close minds will inevitably begin to look back on the year that was in search of themes to define it, unfortunately in regards to the games industry the theme they may settle is one of re-release after re-release. Case in point, Capcom have just confirmed that both Devil May Cry 4 and Ninja Theory’s DMC are to join the ranks of Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs when they appear on the PS4 and XOne next year.
Retitled Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition and DMC Devil May Cry Definitive Edition, both games will run at 60 fps and in 1080p however DMC will also come with all previously released DLC, new skins and some new modes. Whether or not a few skins and a harder difficulty setting will justified another $39.99, €39.99 or £29.99 outlay I’ll leave up to you to decide, perhaps this trailer will help.

    1. Indeed, these ports are cheap to make and only have to shift a few copies to break even so from Capcom’s point of view this clearly is a no brainer.

    1. I think we’ve already seen the last of dark haired Dante, that is unless this version of DmC performs significantly better than the last.

  1. Knowing how that DMC reboot failed to reach Capcom’s sales expectations of 2 million units, I’m going to assume this upcoming rerelease of the DMC reboot is a last-ditch attempt to fulfill such an expectation.

    1. I couldn’t have summed it up any better myself, I will add though. If Capcom think a cheap and cheerful port is suddenly going to see DmC fly off the shelves they’re in for a shock.

      1. I agree, I’ve found far more people excited by the prospect of playing Devil May Cry 4 again then I have DmC. Perhaps Capcom will finally realize what that means.
