Pokemon Snap 2?

Back in 1999 the Pokemon craze was at an all time high and Nintendo were releasing spin-off after spin-off in an effort to cash in. One such spin-off, while only moderately successful in regards to some of the others (read Pokemon Stadium), went on to establish itself as a real fan favourite and that game was Pokemon Snap.
Over the last few years calls for a Pokemon Snap 2 have really picked up and it seems even reached the ears of Junichi Masuda, director of Pokémon X and Y who’s said.
“As a player I definitely want to play a cool new version of Pokemon Snap, but at the same time I also think if it was just a remake with better graphics I don’t think it would be as interesting as a lot of people are imagining. If someone was to end up developing it they’d have to come up with some cool ideas to really make it a good game for the current generation.”
Mr. Masuda want on to say the only thing holding a new Pokemon Snap back at this point is limited resources and the moment that changes so will the delay in getting the sequel.
In other Pokemon news Game Freak have revealed that a special Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire demo will be made available to any and all 3DS owners who either attend any one of the special Pokemon events being held in the run up to the game’s release (details can be found here) or anyone who Signs up for a Pokémon Trainer Club account here.

    1. I was also always a big fan of the Stadium/Colosseum series however with the 3DS Pokemon titles now in full 3D I don’t know if we’ll ever see another again. Shame.

  1. I was thinking of having Nintendo go Super Street Fighter on Pokemon Snap (making an updated version with additional characters) by allowing us to take pictures of more Pokemon among the original 151; This is not to say a brand-new Pokemon Snap is a bad idea.

    1. Yeah I agree, I think an enhanced Snaps for the 3DS could work well but if it were going to be a Wii U game I’d expect a full blown sequel. Perhaps just getting the 64 game up on the Virtual Console would be a start though.
