EA Access.

PlayStation Plus has proven remarkably popular and it looks like EA agree as the Battlefield publisher are planing to bring their very own subscription based service exclusively to the XBox One. Dubbed EA Access and priced at $4.99 a month, or $29.99 a year the service will offer XBox One owners access to ‘The Vault’ which contains a number older EA titles like FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4 for download, a 10% discount on EA digital content for XBox One, including full digital titles, DLC and DLC season passes and 5 days worth of early access to new games like Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15 and Dragon Age: Inquisition, each acting like extended demos offering up to 2 hours of gameplay. Interested? Well EA are remaining tight lipped on exactly when Access will go live but they did confirm it will be soon, with memberships being made available via GameStop in US, Amazon in Europe and EB Games in Canada.

  1. I fail to see what this has to do with the PS4. I’m not going to get too excited about this news just yet though. I want to see exactly what type of games are going to be available first.

  2. I don’t buy enough EA games to justify a subscription even if it means getting access to old sport games (big whoop.)

    1. I can’t go a day without my sports game fix :]. I actually buy just about everything EA releases. They’re not that bad. Ubisoft on the other hand I’m considering boycotting for a years.

  3. In the case of the PS4, EA Access has been funded by Microsoft so it won’t be coming to Sony’s console anytime soon, as for the service itself well. If you are a big buyer of EA titles and don’t mind renting instead of owning them I can see this having some benefits but for me EA just don’t offer enough variety in games to make the service worth it. Sorry EA.
