XBox One – Kinect = More Kinect Games?

Some of you may believe that now Microsoft have removed Kinect from the standard XBox One package that less Kinect games will be developed right? Well not according to Microsoft’s European Studios boss Phil Harrison who revealed he thinks even more Kinect titles are probably on the way for that very reason.
“Last week we made a very significant announcement about giving gamers a choice, a choice about how they want to enter the Xbox One ecosystem, by offering them a version of Xbox One both with and without Kinect, and fundamentally that is good for opening up the Xbox One ecosystem – the more consumers who buy Xbox One, it’s a virtuous cycle for more developers to make and more consumers to play games, and that is what we’re committed to achieving and continuing. We (Microsoft) remain committed to Kinect as the premium way to experience the Xbox One.”
Mr. Harrison’ comments come little more than a week after Microsoft sacked some twenty members of Rare, a developer who has in recent years worked exclusively on Kinect titles. Indeed Microsoft seem utterly committed to Kinect.

XBox One Kinect More Kinect Games

  1. Harrison is living on cloud cuckoo land. Microsoft have abandoned the Kinect as consumers don’t want it. If developers couldn’t be bothered with Kinect when it was compulsory why would they start making games for it now?

    1. His comments are laughable and that’s me being kind. Microsoft and their lackeys really need to take a big step back from Kinect, stop talking about it all together and refocus their resources in areas their fan base will appreciate, namely more exclusives for the XOne.
