Rare Looking To The Past.

Although they’re not directly working on the revived Killer Instinct the fact that one of Rare’s classics is returning proves Microsoft is open to the idea of delving into the company’s back catalogue. As are Rare themselves if designer Simon Woodroffe is to be believed.
“We’ve got ideas for most older Rare IP[s], you won’t be surprised to hear. There’s quite a lot of desire to do something with Viva Pinata, Conker… Banjo’s very popular internally, a lot of people want to do stuff with Banjo..” Woodroffe told Official Xbox Magazine before finishing.
“We’re (Rare) all about giving people new experiences, that’s what we want to do. It’s a very technical studio … We want to find that thing that nobody’s ever done before and make a game out of it. We should be inventing new genres, inventing new ways to play. And Kinect gives us new opportunities to do it, with the fidelity it has now.”
So there you have it, a new Banjo and Kazooie or Perfect Dark may indeed happen but they’ll be powered by Kinect. Guess you can’t have everything.
